Padang Padang Beach is on the west coast of Bukit Peninsula and is known for its pristine environment and turquoise water. The annual Rip Curl Cup surfing contest is organised on this beach, making it a famous destination among surfers worldwide. The beach is also known as Labuan Sait Beach and is spread over 110 metres. In 1995, the youngest son of the former Indonesian president, Tommy Suharto, bought the beach and the surrounding land near it. The beach used to have few warungs, but now it has transformed into one of the popular surfing spots.
