Siruvapuri Balamurugan Temple is a 500-year-old temple located in the Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu. It is dedicated to Lord Murugan, popularly known as Karthikeya, and its original name in government records is Chinnambedu, though popularly known as Siruvapuri Sri Balasubrahmanyam temple. The temple has the sculpture of Lord Muruga’s vahana, the peacock, which is made from the precious green stone called “Margatham.” As mentioned in the Sthala Purana, the temple’s name, “Siruvapuri,” means “the battle of children,” which refers to the legendary fight Luv and Kush had with Lord Rama.

The temple is situated in Siruvapuri, Tamil Nadu, and can be accessed via the Chennai-Kolkata NH5. Some of the major roads that are connected include the Siruvapuri Main Road, which directly connects NH16 to the temple, and several other local routes.
