Devoted to the Golu Devta, the Kumaon deity, the Chitai Golu Devta Temple is an interesting and unique site near Binsar. The temple is a few kilometres away from the entrance of Binsar, and it’s filled with the sounds of countless brass bells, which the devotees offer. Compared to other temples, the Chitai Golu Devta Temple is a spot where visitors and devotees come and jot down all their wishes on paper, attach them to bells, and leave them there. This beautiful temple is located between the pine and deodar trees and exudes a sense of purpose and mystery because all the bell chimes contain the faith and prayers of many people who have visited the temple to seek justice and answers.

2. Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary

Founded way back in 1988 to protect the Quercus Forests, the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the central region of the Himalayas and is home to over 200 different kinds of birds. The sanctuary is sitting majestically on top of the Jhandi Dhar Hills sprawls over 11,265 acres of land and reflects the rich biodiversity of the region. The common green vegetation covering the area consists of pine trees, oak, and rhododendrons and you will find the bloom at its peak when you are visiting in between March and April. The common wildlife that you may encounter includes Indian Muntjac, Wild Boar, Leopard, Himalayan Goral, Red Fox, Musk Deer, Jungle Cat, and Chital. For birdwatchers, the sanctuary is no less than heaven with the opportunity to spot species like Nuthatches, Magpies, Parakeets, Blackbirds, Woodpeckers, and Forktails.

3. The Zero Point

Sitting at an altitude of roughly 2,420 meters or 7,940 feet above sea level, Binsar’s Zero Point is a well-known viewpoint where you witness a 360-degree view of the Himalayan range, which includes the popular Kedarnath, Trishul, and Nanda Devi. 4. Binsar Mahadev Temple

Located in Ranikhet, the Binsar Mahadev Temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and has the Shiva Lingam as the presiding divinity. The construction of this temple can be traced back to the 16th century by the Chand Emperors, the Bineshwar Mahadev Temple is one of the leading sites in Binsar and is a must-visit spot. This ancient temple is again devoted to God Shiva after which the town got its name. The temple is just 6 km away from Ayarpani, and you will find it on the route towards the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary. It is located amidst the Kumaon cliffs. 6. Khali Estate
