Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary is a grand natural haven in the heart of the lush Wayanad District of Kerala, India. The sanctuary covers 344.44 square km and is inhabited by large wild animals such as the gaur and the Indian elephant, deer, and the majestic Bengal tiger. By Road: One can easily reach the sanctuary by private car, taxi, or bus. It takes nearly 30 minutes from Sultan Bathery and about 3-4 hours from Kozhikode.
By Rail: Kozhikode Railway Station is the nearest railway station, about 100 km from the wildlife sanctuary. From Kozhikode, visitors can hire a taxi or bus to Sultan Bathery. This place is situated at the entrance of Wayanad district and is the gateway to Tholpetty.
By Air: The nearest airport to Tholpetty is Calicut International Airport, about 110 km away. One can easily hire a taxi from the airport or book a transfer to the sanctuary in advance. The drive takes about 3-4 hours and passes through various landscapes of Kerala.
