Assam State Museum is located in the southernmost part of Dighalipukhuri Tank in Guwahati. It is right in the heart of Assam with heavenly scenic views. The museum was founded by Kamarupa Anusandhan Samiti in 1940 to showcase Northeastern culture and history.

Assam State Museum is just a 10-minute walk from the Guwahati Railway Station. You can take a rickshaw or cab from the Railway Station directly to the museum. If you walk to the museum, you’ll reach there in 10 minutes. But it is free of cost. If You take a cab or rickshaw, it will cost you ₹50 approximately, and you’ll reach the museum in 2 to 5 minutes.
