Nongkhyllem Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife gem located in the Eastern Himalayas, Meghalaya. The Nongkhyllem Wildlife Sanctuary address is the 20th-mile Nongpoh, Ri-Bhoi district, near Lailed village, Meghalaya. This sanctuary is located at a distance of 34 kilometres from Dispur and 75 kilometres from the town of Shillong. Entry to the sanctuary requires permission from the forest officer of Nongpoh because it is not open to drive-in tourists. The sanctuary has over 50 species of mammals including Bengal tigers, black bears, leopards, etc. and 25 species of reptiles, with 30 species listed in Schedule I of the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972. The sanctuary’s rich biodiversity attracts wildlife enthusiasts and researchers alike. Air: Located at a distance of 68 kilometres from Umroi Airport in Shillong and 61 kilometres from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati.
Rail: Guwahati Railway Station is the nearest railway station, about at a distance of 40 kilometres from the sanctuary.
