Ahobilam Temple is roughly 70 kilometers from Nandyal and 360 miles from Hyderabad. Lord Narasimha’s shrines are spread throughout the two distinct areas of the temple complex, Upper Ahobilam and Lower Ahobilam. By Air: The closest airport is the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, which is roughly 360 kilometres distant. To get to Ahobilam from the airport, you can take a bus or hire a taxi.
By Train: Nandyal, almost 70 miles from Ahobilam, is the closest train station. You can take a local bus or hire a taxi from Nandyal to get to the temple complex.
By Road: Ahobilam has excellent road connectivity. Cities such as Hyderabad (360 km), Tirupati (270 km), and Bangalore (360 km) are accessible by car. From these cities, regular buses also run to Ahobilam. Buses and taxis to Ahobilam are available often from Nandyal.

1. Jwala Narasimha

Within the Ahobilam Temple complex, Jwala Narasimha is among the most important and highly admired monuments. It is where Lord Narasimha took on his most devastating form and killed the demon king Hiranyakashipu. It is situated in Upper Ahobilam. Legend has it that Lord Narasimha appeared on this pillar to save his disciple Prahlada. The name “Ugra” refers to the god’s ferocious and angry nature upon his appearance. It takes a lot of determination to complete the difficult trip to Ugra Stambham. Although the climb is rough and steep, it is nonetheless rewarding because of the spiritual value and the expansive views from the top.

4. Pavana Narasimha
