8. Kewzing Village

Kewzing, situated at an altitude of 4,600 feet, is on the Legship-Ravangla Highway in southern Sikkim, almost 75 kilometers from Gangtok, and is home to tree-laden hills, a howling river, and a few hundred exotic bird species. In Bhutia dialect, Kewzing means ‘land of wheat fields’ and is also known as land of chestnut forests. The peaceful community, with mainly Buddhist residents, has just over 30 houses against Mt. Samdruptse Hill, the ‘wish fulfilling hill’, is only 5 kilometers from Namchi with an elevation of 2134 meters. This beautiful hill is decorated with a massive statue of Sikkim’s patron saint, Guru Padmasambhava. It is a 45-meter-tall statue that overlooks the entire city and is covered in gold, which sparkles when exposed to sunshine. The slope offers a glimpse of the stunning Mt. Kangchenjunga amidst densely forested hills and a blue-painted sky.

10. Ravangla Rinchenpong

The Ngadakpa Lama founded Rinchenpong Monastery in 1730 in the town of Rinchenpong. It is Sikkim’s third oldest monastery, established with roughly 98 lamas. The monastery has a rare Ati Buddha (Adi-Buddha) statue in the Yab-Yum position. Ati Buddha, also known as the Primordial Buddha, is believed to be the actual Buddha and is symbolically portrayed as a naked Buddha in blue. Rinchenpong Monastery is popular among tourists visiting West Sikkim because of its beauty and Buddha statue.

11. Kheunpheling Carpet Centre

13. Pelling Skywalk

The Skywalk Pelling Sikkim is a glass-bottomed bridge found in Pelling, Sikkim. It is 200 feet long and 55 feet high, with incredible views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The bridge is composed of tempered glass, which is highly resilient and safe. This glass bridge was constructed with the goal of being the country’s first glass bridge. The bridge is about 100 feet tall and laid with transparent thick glass, leaving guests with a thrill after looking down into a foot and feeling as if they were walking in the sky.
