Hauz Khas Fort, located in Hauz Khas village, was constructed during the rule of Alauddin Khilji. This place is famous for its remains of glorious parts. It was built between 1199 and 1220, has 399 steps and is one of the most visited places in the city. It has elements of traditional Islamic architecture and South Western design. Siri Fort, located in New Delhi, was built under the rule of Alauddin Kalji. This fort is seen only in ruins due to its poor quality construction compared to other forts in India. Alauddin created this fort between 1297 and 1307 to defend against Mongol invasions of Delhi. The fort stood as a great power during the enlargement of his territory. According to the legend, the name Siri Fort came from the Fort being built on the severed heads of nearly 8000 Mongol soldiers killed in the war.
