The complex consists of an old mosque and madrasa opposite a water tank. 2. Chor Minar

Chor Minar, also known as the ‘Tower of Thieves’ is a 13th-century monument with 225 holes, situated off Aurobindo Marg in the area of Hauz Khas, in New Delhi. The Chor Minar is about 700 to 800 years old. It’s also situated in Narnaul Haryana, 120 km from Delhi. It was constructed under the reign of Alauddin Khalji, of the Khilji dynasty in the 13th century. Historians say that the Khalji king destroyed a settlement of Mongols to stop them from coming together with their brethren in another Mongol settlement in the city, the current locality of ‘Mongolpuri’.

3. St. Mary’s Orthodox Cathedral

St. Mary’s Orthodox Cathedral was the first place of worship after the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church in New Delhi. It is located in the Hauz Khas area. This parish was established in the year 1942, forming a congregation by Father Mathews, later Baselios Mar Thoma Mathews II. There is also a St. Paul’s School and a St. Mary Medical Centre on the premises. It is a must-visit place for peace lovers and believers.

4. Jagannath Mandir

The Jagannath Mandir, Hauz Khas presents excellent architecture, with exquisite carvings and lovely wall paintings (Patta Chitra). A two-storied structure, the Temple’s Ground Floor is where Goddess Mausi Maa is worshipped. Lord Jagannath’s abode in Puri is the epitome of an inseparable relationship between God and humans. Every day from ‘Mangala Alati’ till Ratri Pahuda’, the deities are decorated with beautiful costumes made of cotton and silk along with gold ornaments studded with precious gems, different kinds of flowers, Chandan and tulsi leaves.

5. Deer Park

Deer Park or Aditya Nath Jha Deer Park, is a nature park in the village of Hauz Khas in South Delhi. It was named after a renowned social worker Aditya Nath Jha. This place is famous for strolling, jogging and outings. The park provides a large space for deer to roam around and play with each other. 8. Neeli Masjid

Nili Masjid is quite an old structure in Hauz Khas. It was constructed during the Lodi dynasty era. It looks like a lot of other heritage structures of South Delhi. Nili Masjid is adorned with blue tiles. There is an ancient lore associated with the masjid that, Kausambi who was a royal nurse, got Neeli constructed during 1505-06 which was the reign of Sikander Lodi. She also took care of the son of Khan-i-Azam Khawas Khan, a powerful official of the kingdom. It has a fascinating past and you will know more about it when you visit.
