Swaminarayan Akshardham, or Akshardham Mandir as it is known today, was constructed in 205 by the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. The temple is constructed without the use of steel, reflecting India’s ancient architectural tradition. Along with the idol of the main deity, Bhagwan Swaminarayan, the temple also features idols of Radha Krishna, Shri Sita Ram, Shri Lakshmi Narayan and Sri Shiva Parvati. The temple is also famous for its water shows, featuring lights, fire, and lasers. The temple also has a souvenir shop for tourists, opening from 11 am to 8 pm.
