2. Chottanikkara Bhagavathy Temple

Chottanikkara Temple is considered to be one of the most important of the 393 similar sacred shrines spread across the Kerala district. Here, Goddess Rajarajeshwarii is worshipped in three forms throughout the day. She is Goddess Saraswati in morning, Goddess Lakshmi in noon, and Goddess Durga in the evening. The accompanying Mahavishnu idol on the same pedestal also changes its form from Ammenarana to Devinarayana to Lakshminarayan to finally Bhadre Narayana in the evening. The place is considered to be quite sacred among the devotees who believe that Goddess Chottanikkara can cure patients of mental illnesses.
