Not many think of a beach to be haunted but Dumas Beach in Surat has chilling stories that explain why it is less frequented by tourists. It is the most haunted place in Gujarat. On the beach, the Hindus burn their bodies, which is one of the reasons why the beach is riddled with paranormal activities. The majority of the people visiting the beach report that they hear strange whispers on the beach when visiting. Also, it is said that the entire beach is haunted by the spirits of the dead people who are burned on the beach.

Another one of the underrated yet must-visit haunted sites in Gujarat is the Siddhpur Village. It is the empty Vohrawads of Siddhpur that are reportedly haunted, given that they are abandoned. The village looks like any other ancient town but the more you explore, the more stories come up. One of the most haunted sites in the village is the Dawoodi Bohras which has majestic mansions that almost mimic European-style architecture and are painted in pastels. The most famous of these is the “Haunted Haveli,” where visitors have reported seeing shadowy figures, hearing strange noises, and feeling an unexplainable presence.

A haunted destination inside of a college campus? Well, that’s what people say concerning the Gujarat Technological University campus in Ahmedabad. There seems to be no concrete reasoning as to why the place is haunted but the administrators and peons inside the buildings say that they often feel the presence of a woman during the evening and night. There are several encounters of unearthly experiences that have left people with chills. While there has been no foul play discussed about these haunted experiences yet, some of the reports also indicate that some of the people who have encountered such experiences.

Also known as the Kali building, Pathik Apartment is located in the posh locality of Parle Point Area in Surat. Despite how centrally located the apartment is, it is rarely visited by any of the people or even bought by people. The apartments remain abandoned. A security guard who worked in the apartment died in the apartment, which resulted in the apartment being haunted. Although the building remains locked, locals and people visiting from around have reported witnessing a woman in black inside the apartment complex roaming around freely.

The horror story of the haunted police station in Mehsana is another experience that will leave you with chills. How or what led to the police station being haunted has not been answered yet. However, the police officers and the employees who work inside have reported experiencing paranormal activities. They report witnessing sudden apparitions of people and even a sudden drop in temperature. It is said that three policemen died inside the police station, which led to the place being haunted. They committed suicide inside, which is the reason why their spirits linger inside the police station, to this day.

One of the top haunted places in Gujarat, Avadh Palace is located in Rajkot. Reports suggest that before being a palace, it was a gambling club where people would lavishly spend their money. However, on one fateful night, a girl was tortured to a horrifying incident and was burned to death. To this day, it is said that the black marks of her footsteps can be seen inside the palace. You will often hear people saying that you should never bring a woman to this palace during the day. And, visiting during the night is entirely prohibited.

Among them is Chir Batti, which translates to ‘Ghost Light.’ In this, many of the locals have reported seeing mysterious lights of red, yellow and blue colour during the night. Most of the time, these bright lights can be seen a few feet above the ground and then remain like that for a few seconds and vanish into thin air.
