The weather is extremely suitable for visiting wildlife sanctuaries. The Sanctuary is located in the Ponda taluka and boasts a number of animals like the Malabar Giant Squirrel, the Indian Bison, the Sambar Deer and the Indian Peafowl. The sanctuary is also known for providing a home to animals like leopards, bears and cobras who have been previously injured in contact with human intervention.

2. Tiracol Fort

Tiracol Fort must be visited by all history enthusiasts who are planning to visit Goa. The Portuguese name for this fort was originally Fortaleza da Santíssima Trindade. The mouth of the Terekhol River is where the centre of the fort lies. You will have to take a ferry from Querim in order to visit this location. The fort is believed to have been built under the reign of the King of Sawantwadi in the 17th century. The fort was significant for the Portuguese until 1961. It is also symbolic of being home to protests by N/Adom fighters in the ’50s.

However, another reason behind this name is the story of Dona Paula Menezes, the Viceroy’s daughter who had once loved a fisherman. Due to the Viceroy’s disapproval, she jumped off the cliff which is now named after her.

5. The Church Of St. Cajetan

This church is also known as the Church of Divine Providence. It owes its origin to the 17th century. The architectural components of this church draw a lot of influence from the Corinthian Order. It was built under Italian architects whose visit to India has been preceded by that of Italian Christian missionaries. The influence of the Church’s architecture was St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican. The dome of the church bears inscriptions from the Gospel of Matthew. The facade bears four statues of John the Evangelist, Paul, Peter and Matthew. There are seven altars inside the church.

6. Mollem Biodiversity Park

The Mollem Biodiversity Park in Goa is embraced by dense forest cover on all sides. The capital city of Panaji is located at a distance of 60 km from the Mollem Biodiversity Park. There is also a railway line that passes through this park, providing a scenic view of nature to the passengers of the train on the Mormugao-Londa route. You can catch a glimpse of many bird species at this park, including fairy bluebirds, drongo, great Indian hornbill, kingfishers and the golden oriole. 7. Tambdi Surla Waterfalls

Along this waterfall, there are also a number of smaller streams descending down the steep slopes of the hills. The path from the temple to the adjacent waterfall is steep and narrow, but the strenuous trek will lead you to a beautiful waterfall that is worth viewing. A number of small animals and reptiles are found near this waterfall.

8. Benz Wax Museum And Fish Aquarium

10. Savoi Spice Plantation
