Located in Manimajra, Manimajra Fort is believed to be 360 years old, dating back between the 16th and 17th centuries. The movie Zero Dark Thirty, was shot here, further propelling the popularity of the place. The origins of this fort date back to the reign of Gharib Dass Dhillon from the Dhillon clan. The dynasty ruled over 84 different villages in the locality and there seems to be a lot of insights about Dhillon rulers. Constructed from sandstone and brick, the fort’s architecture reflects a harmonious blend of Mughal and Rajasthani styles, with intricately designed jharokhas (overhanging balconies), courtyards, and imposing gates that narrate stories of the past.
