1. Agroha Dham

This beautiful temple complex in Hisar attracts a large number of tourists throughout the year. The temple bears the shrine of the goddess Mahalakshmi. The construction of the temple was started in 1976 and it was inaugurated in 1984. The temple complex is run by the Agroha Vikas Trust. The temple complex is divided into three different sections, dedicated to Goddess Mahalakshmi, Goddess Saraswati and Maharaja Agrasena respectively. The temple is known for hosting the Agroha Maha Kumbh Festival every year on the occasion of Sharad Purnima.

2. Blue Bird Lake

The Blue Bird Lake is a magnificent blue lake in Hisar. It is a man-made artificial lake which nurtures the habitat of endangered migratory bird species. It lies very close to the Hisar Airport. You can easily commute from the airport to this lake. The best time to visit this lake is during the winter when spotting migratory birds by the lake is very easy. The lake also serves as a commercial fishery for the Haryana Government’s Fisheries Department. The lake spans over 20 acres and has several smaller islands on it, where migratory birds find it safe to land.

3. Firoz Shah Palace Complex

This architectural marvel, also known as Hisar-e-Firoza is the testimony of how Hisar had been passed on to various royal families throughout the ages and taken up their unique cultural aspects with time. The palatial complex was built by Delhi Sultanate ruler, Firoz Shah Tughlaq. It owes its origin to the 14th century CE. The complex is famous for having an Ashokan Pillar and the Lat ki Masjid. The palace complex is built out of red sandstone. There are many exquisitely designed gates like the Shahi Darwaza, the Talaqi Gate, the Mori Gate and the Nagauri Gate.

4. Rakhigarhi

If you have ever wondered what the Indus Valley Civilization looked like, then Rakhigarhi must be one of the destinations on your list. Located at a distance of 150km northwest of Delhi, this village is an archaeological site of great significance to India. It lies very close to the Ghagga River. Rakhigarhi was among the largest of all settlements during the Indus Valley Civilization and the Pre-Harappan Age. Terracotta jewellery, precious stones and conch shells dating back to the Indus Valley Civilization have been found in this village. 152 houses at Rakhigarhi are under preservation through the efforts of the Archaeological Survey of India.

5. Jahaj Kothi Museum

This museum started as a temple for Jains in the 18th century and then later served as the residence of George Thomas. This museum is located very close to the Hisar Bus Stand. The museum building was built using lime, surkhi, mortar, burnt mud, and clay. The museum stands out in terms of its architecture, which was planned during its construction. The museum houses several artefacts that trace the history of Jainism. There are also some inscriptions by George Thomas. The building gets its name from its external shape; it is shaped like a ship.

6. St. Thomas Church

This church is greatly revered by the Christian community dwelling in Hisar. It lies very close to the Hisar Railway Station. The church is in dedication to one of the 12 disciples of Jesus, St. Thomas. The entrance of the church has a beautiful arch and the exterior of the building is painted in white, radiating spirituality and peace amidst visitors. The church was built according to the Victorian style of architecture, which is popular in Europe. A graveyard is located right next to the church. Hisar’s oldest Park, the Krantiman Park, is located within the complex of this church.

7. Gujari Mahal

This ancient palace is one of the many architectural marvels that Hisar boasts of. It is a testimony of Firoz Shah Tughlaq’s love for his beloved, Gujari. It was built in the 14th century out of the Shah’s love for Hisar’s native queen. The walls are massive and thickly coated in lime. The walls offer very narrow openings. The pavilion of the palace also called the baradari, is extremely beautiful. There are stairs which will lead you up to this pavilion, which is bordered by arches on all sides. The exterior of the palace is built out of red sandstone and also bears ornately designed arches and brackets.

8. Town Park

Located in Dabra, Hisar, this park is a great place for picnics and fun. There are many rides available for children. The park is lush and verdant and very intricately designed. The star attraction at this park is the musical fountain which lies in the very heart of the park. The park is very popular for early morning and evening strolls. The park is also locally referred to as the Tau Devi Lal Park. It offers visitors and locals a great amount of solace and is a refuge from the bustling life in cities. Renovations have been planned by the government to make further improvements to this park.

10. Deer Park

The Deer Park in Hisar is one of the major tourist attractions in Haryana. The park spans over 19 hectares of land. Out of this 6 acres of land is dedicated to cultivating fodder to feed the deer at this park. 4 species of deer, including sambal blackbuck and chital spotted deer are found here. The park is also home to a clinic which nurses and treats injured animals. The animals are then released into their respective habitats instead of being held captive. The also park provides facilities for visitors to have picnics. It has seating areas and fountains.
