Haryana is known for its diverse flora and fauna. The state has many areas of ecological significance and the Bhindawas Wildlife Sanctuary is one of them. The Bhindawas Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Jhajjar district of Haryana. It is situated on the Kasni Road, along the route of the River Sahibi. The Sahibi River flows from the Aravallis in the state of Rajasthan into the river Yamuna.

By Road: The cities nearest to the Bhindawas Wildlife Sanctuary by road are Delhi and Rohtak. From Delhi, you have to travel via NH-9 for 75km. It will take around 2 hours to reach Bhindawas Wildlife Sanctuary. From Rohtak, you have to travel for an hour via NH-352 and the SH-22.
By Bus: The Jhajjar bus stop is the nearest one to the Bhindawas Wildlife Sanctuary. A lot of buses from Delhi and Rohtak come to this bus stop. From here, you have to cover a journey of 15km to reach the national park.

This Mandir is also known as the Beri Mandir since it is located in the Beri Dopana region of Haryana. The temple is of great significance to the Hindu community living in and around Haryana. The architecture of the temple is exquisite and its origin is rooted deeply in the Mahabharata. Beri is famously known as ‘Choti Kashi’ and is believed to have been founded by Gandhari, who was the mother of the Kauravas and the wife of Dhritarashtra from the Mahabharata. The Beri bus stand is close to this temple. The temple witnesses a huge influx of devotees and visitors on Navratri and Ashtami.

This historical landmark in Jhajjar is associated with interesting folklore. It is associated with Mustafa Kalol, who was an influential man working for the government and a daughter named Bua. It is believed that Bua fell in love with a woodcutter named Hasan and when he died later, she constructed a tomb in his memory. It dates back to the 16th century. The Bua Wala Talab is the pond along which the two lovers rest after death. This place has also been a popular site for shooting Bollywood movies.

5. Khaparwas Bird Sanctuary

This Bird Sanctuary lies very close to the Bhindawas Wildlife Sanctuary and is at a distance of around 80 km from Delhi. The Forests Department of Haryana declared it to be a sanctuary in 1987. It stretches over 82 acres of land and is named after the neighbouring village of Khaparwas. The Khaparwas Lake is beautiful and a favourite among tourists during winter. The bird sanctuary is under the Matanhail Tehsil and is perfect for those who wish to enjoy a picnic with their friends and family by a lake.
