1. Kotaka International Airport

Kotaka is the international airport in Ghana, the capital of Africa. It is operated by Ghana Airports Company Limited, with its office in the airport building. It serves as a primary hub for regional and domestic operator Africa World Airlines. Kotaka is the only international airport in Ghana. Terminal 2 of the airport serves domestic flights, while Terminal 3 serves international, regional and long-haul flights. Major airlines such as Antrak Air, Starbow Airlines, Arik Air, Emirates, and Ethiopian Airlines operate from this airport. The main services and amenities available in this airport include luggage assistance, duty-free shops, currency exchange, special assistance services, lounges, and a food court.

2. Kumasi Airport

Kumasi Airport is a domestic airport that serves Ghana. It is located around 6 km from Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti region. Originally a military base, the Kumasi airport was changed for commercial use in 1999. Runway extension and new terminal building construction projects were undertaken in this airport in 2018. The airport serves around 42,000 passengers a month. It currently serves Africa World Airlines, Passion Air and Euroarlines. 3. Tamale Airport

Tamale airport was established as an operational base for the army during World War II. Later, the Government of Ghana approved building a new international military airport around eleven miles north of Tamale. Later, this was done to accommodate civil operations as well. Currently, the Tamale airport is used for military and civil operations apart from accommodating a few international flights. This airport acts as an alternative to Kotoka International Airport and can handle huge aircraft. This airport currently serves African World Airlines, Passion Air and Euroairlines. The main services and amenities available in this airport include a VIP lounge, check-in kiosks, airline offices and retail spaces.

4. Takoradi Airport

Located in the Sekondi-Takoradi region, the capital of the western region of Ghana, this airport dates to the World War II era. This airport was the main link between Lagos and Sudan in Nigeria during the war. Ammunition and war supplies were sent to Egypt, Russia and the Middle East from this place. While Imperial Airways pioneered the air route for this purpose, the airport later underwent a major renovation and is currently used as a civil airport. This airport currently serves African World Airlines, Passion Air and Euroairlines. The main services and amenities available in this airport include restaurants, cafes, lounges, and wheelchair accessibility.

5. Sunyani Airport

The GACL operates the Sunyani Airport and currently offers domestic flight services to the Bono region. Built-in 1942 for use by Allied Forces during World War II, the airstrip was later abandoned. The Government then undertook the project of completing an airport for the region for civil purposes which opened in 1974. This airport currently serves Passion Air, which operates flights to and from Accra, Ghana. The main services and amenities available in this airport include wheelchair accessibility, VIP services, restaurants and lounge services.

6. WA Airport

The GACL operates WA Airport and currently serves the upper-west region of Ghana. The WA Airport underwent extensive refurbishment, including building renovation, to make it usable for terminal operations. The runway was rehabilitated, and the facility was fenced, enabling it to commence its commercial operations in 2019. The runway of the WA Airport can accommodate a medium size aircraft. This airport currently serves Passion Air, which operates flights to and from Accra, Ghana. The main services and amenities available in this airport include wheelchair accessibility and parking.

7. HO Airport

Ho Airport is the regional airport established to serve the Ho region of Volta, Ghana. While construction was completed in 2017, the airport was opened to commercial use only from 2021. Managed by the CAGL and renovation under progress, the HO Airport will cover around 1500 acres and have one passenger terminal and a 1900m runway once it is ready. Passion Air and Africa World Airlines had test flights to Ho Airport but are yet to begin regular services.
