Also popularly referred to as the NGMA, this gallery is managed by the Ministry of Culture of India. It covers around 17,000 works by the most celebrated artists of India and abroad. Artists whose works feature in this gallery are Abanindranath Tagore, Raja Ravi Varma, Thomas Daniell, Jamini Roy and Nandalal Bose. It is also famous for being one of the largest of all art galleries across the globe. The oldest art pieces can be dated back to as early as 1857. The gallery is situated on the Rajpath in Delhi.

3. Nature Morte

The gallery was founded by Rama Anand in the opulent locality of Hauz Khas Village. Since 1993, it has been attracting a lot of visitors from across the globe. It claims itself to be the first ever contemporary art gallery in the country, established by Shri Ram Babu Jain in the year 1936 during British Rule in India. Shri Ram Babu Jain was a passionate art enthusiast who was professionally associated with the printing and publishing industry. The gallery features masterpieces by celebrated figures in Indian contemporary art, including Jamini Roy, M.F Husain, Sailoz Mukherjea and F.N Souza.
