The Chaturshringi Temple is believed to be over 300 years old, and established during the reign of the Maratha Empire. The name “Chaturshringi” is derived from the Marathi words “Chatur” (meaning four) and “Shringi” (meaning peaks), symbolising the four peaks of the hill on which the temple stands. The temple stands at a height of 90 feet, the devotees have to climb around 100 steps from the base of the hill to get to the inner sanctum. The temple houses the main deity, Goddess Chaturshringi, and smaller shrines dedicated to Goddess Durga and Lord Ganesha, including eight miniature Ganesha idols placed along the hillside.
