Chengannur Temple is a temple in Kerala dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathy. It was built around 1500 years ago and has a legendary traditional architecture. It is one of the famous and oldest temples with two shrines. Lord Shiva faces east and Goddess Parvathy faces the west. The idol of Devi is made with an alloy of five metals, called Panchaloham, and the Shivalingam is covered with a gold plate bearing an image of Ardhanareeswara. It’s quite a unique temple owing to its belief and festival called Triputharattu, which is a symbol of fertility.

By Air – The nearest airport is Kochi International Airport. From there, the tourists can take a cab or a taxi to reach the temple.
By Rail – The nearby railway stations are Chengannur (2 km), Thiruvalla (10 km), and Changanassery (18 km). Taxis, cabs, and autos run from the station to the temple.
By Road – Chengannur is situated between Thiruvalla and Pandalam on Main Central Road. regular bus service is available. You can also hire a taxi.
