The Bambleshwari Temple in Dongargarh is at the top of a hill with a total height of 1600 feet. Devoted to the Hindu Goddess Maa Bambleshwari Devi, the temple is split into two distinct parts, Chhoti Bambleshwari and Badi Bambleshwari. The Chhoti Bambleshwari is located a bit far from the main temple area, whereas Badi Bambleshwari is located on a hill. The temple was constructed 2200 years ago by Raja Veersen, the ruler of Dongargarh, to please the gods and guarantee his lawful successor.

2. Maa Patal Bhairavi Temple

Among all the popular temples in Dongargarh, Maa Patal Bhairavi Temple is a must-visit. Dedicated to another form of Goddess Kali, devotees worship here the divine presence of Maa Bhairavi. The temple, consisting of three storeys, has each story dedicated to a different god or goddess. The first floor of the temple has an idol of the Goddess Maa Bhairavi, a powerful incarnation of Maa Kali. The second floor of the Patal Bhairavi Temple has idols of many Hindu gods. The mighty Lord Shiva is honoured on the third floor, where devotees of Shiva can worship him and view his twelve jyotirlingas.

3. Jain Temple

With the help of Jain saint Acharya Shri Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj, a Jain temple was built on top of Chandragiri Hill. The town of Dongargarh also has a significant population of Jain, Buddhist, Sikh, and Christian communities. A thirty-foot-tall Buddha statue is also built in the area, which is visible from all six of the town’s main hills, situated on Pragyagiri Hill. Also, an old statue of Lord Teerthankara Chandraprabhuji, one of the temple’s prominent features, is present in this region.

4. Pragya Giri

A part of the town known as Pragya Giri is located on a hilltop at a height of 1,000 feet in Dongargarh, in the Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh. Though it’s not a proper temple, this place is highly spiritual. A huge east-facing Buddha statue can be seen in a Buddhist vihara here. A total of 225 stairs on the mountain lead up to the statue. Pragyagiri was constructed in 1998 under the supervision of Pujya Bhadant Sangharatna Manakek, President of Pannya Metta Sangha India. So far, 25 international Buddhist gatherings have been organised by the Pannya Metta Sangha here.
