By Road: The Chembra Lake in Wayanad is located close to Meppadi town. It is also well-connected to other major cities and towns like Kochi, Bangalore, and Kozhikode. Therefore, you must visit the trek’s base camp by car or taxi and then set off after getting your permits.
By Train: The nearest railway station to Chembra Lake is Kozhikode or Calicut, around 79 km away. However, you must take a taxi or bus from Meppadi to reach Kozhikode.
By Air: To reach Chembra Lake in Wayanad, you must take a flight to Calicut International Airport. Taxis and buses are available from the airport to Meppadi.

Banasura Sagar Dam is also not located very far away from the lake. Just 35 km from Heart Lake, Banasura Dam is a tourist destination. It is often referred to as the green paradise of South India. Banasura Dam has been built across the Karamanathodu River and is also a Kabini River tributary. Visiting the Banasura Sagar Dam will provide an excellent opportunity to witness the beauty of trees, forests, and hills.
