This tower, near the Kamla Nehru Ridge, was originally erected as a tower meant for the purpose of signals and communication. During the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857, a lot of families from Europe took shelter here. The British Army of the colonial period is credited with the building of this tower since they used it as a military cantonment. The tower is now protected under the authority of the Archaeological Survey of India. It can hold a hundred people at once. There is also a cemetery where the British who fell during the siege of 1857 are buried.
