Jhansi Fort is a famous historical doomed city situated in the Jhansi region of Uttar Pradesh. This fort, of the Bundela kings of the seventeenth century, was heavily involved in the ‘mutiny’ of 1857. The fort has more than fifteen acres and includes high walls, commanding gateways, and several buildings, which have given much evidence of the architectural styles of the area.

The primary attraction is the Barua Sagar Lake which is the largest and closely surrounded by hills offering great views, and has a comparatively tranquil environment which makes it very appropriate for picnicking and spending leisurely time on nature walks. The nearby area also has many historical sites including temples and forts which indicates the area is very old. Orchha Fort is a large fort of palaces and temples that was built in the sixteenth century and is situated about 18 km away from the Jhansi Fort. The structures that are more popular in the fort are the Raja Mahal, Jehangir Mahal, and Ram Raja Temple with a fantastic combination of Rajput and Mughal architecture. The major attractions are the beautiful palace, the beautiful carved works, and the silence of the fortresses of the complex.
