Joshi Museum is located in Kothrud, which is a little off the track from the main city of Pune. The museum was established and opened to the public in 1998. The museum is the brainchild of Mr. B. S. Joshi, more commonly known as Bhau Joshi. Right from his childhood, Bhau Joshi had a passion for collecting train models. To further bring his passion into a vision, Bhau started creating miniature models of the railways right during his childhood, during the 1980s. Initially, the museum’s hall was constructed and all the relevant electrical wiring and work was done to ensure that the models that were on display were functional. The model consists of 65 signals, fences, 100s of wires, and a whole lot of unique elements.
