Kichakeswari Temple is in Khiching in Odisha and is dedicated to Goddess Kichakeswari, who is an incarnation of Goddess Kali/Chamunda. The temple’s origin dates back to the Bhanja dynasty since it is located in the capital of the dynasty, Khiching. It was constructed by the rulers of the Bhanja dynasty, who were ardent followers of Goddess Kichakeswari. The temple has undergone several renovations and restorations over the centuries, with the most significant being undertaken by King Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva during the 11th century.
