By Road: You can take the A6 highway from Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka, to Trincomalee, a distance of approximately 260 km. The journey takes around 6 – 7 hours by car or bus. Once in Trincomalee, follow the signs to Fort Frederick and the temple.
By Rail: Trains run from Colombo Fort Railway Station to Trincomalee Railway Station frequently and the journey will take about 8 – 9 hours. From the railway station, you can hire a taxi or take a tuk-tuk to the temple.
By Air: The domestic airport nearest to Trincomalee is the China Bay Airport, located about 12 kilometres from the town centre. There are domestic flights between Colombo and China Bay. From the airport, you can reach the temple by taxi.
