Kunjpura Fort is located in Kunjpura village, in the Karnal district of Haryana. It is located on the west bank of the Yamuna River, which continues to Calcutta. Kunjpura Fort has a very long history in the village. This was a major helping point for people who travelled from Khyber Pass to Delhi before the modern roads were constructed. It was an estate for about 50 villages. It was established by Nawab Najabat Khan in 1729, after the invasion of Nadir Shah in India. Kunjpura was then won by the forces of the Maratha Empire in 1761.
