Encompassing an area of 18 square kilometres, this beautiful body of water is flanked by the towering Pir Panjal mountains. It is also a centre of tourism, famous for its houseboats, floating gardens and shikara rides. The lake is further divided into four basins, each providing a different view of the splendour of Srinagar. The floating market is one of the main draws, where vendors sell fresh goods from boats.

2. Wular Lake

Gangbal Lake lies in the Ganderbal district, situated at the base of Mount Haramukh, and is considered a lake of religious importance for Hindus.
