You can start your trek from multiple places, for example, from Rhodo Valley or Meesapulimala Base camp. Rhodo Valley is the last location that is accessible by road. By Air
The closest airport to Meesapulimala is the Cochin International Airport. You can take a cab to Munnar from the airport, which is located about 107 km away. From Munnar, you can take a cab to the Meesapulimala base camp.
By Road
Munnar is well-connected through roadways. The recently opened Munnar-Bodimettu segment of NH-85 has improved connectivity between the Southern states. The route is famous for its scenic landscapes along the way. You can rent a car or travel using public transport.

1. Trekking Through Rhodo Valley

You can start your trek from the base camp, which is locally known as the Silent Valley. The route from Silent to Rhodo Valley is 6 km and takes you through grasslands, waterfalls, and lakes. You can take a short break at Rhodo Valley and then continue your journey to the Meesapulimala peak. Or you could choose to start your trek at Rhodo Valley. It will take about 2 hours to reach the peak.

2. Trekking Through Kurangini

The route from Kurangini through the Kolukkumalai tea estate to Meesapulimala covers a distance of 15 km. The trek is moderate to difficult, and it can take you about 9 hours to reach the peak. The Kolukkumalai tea estate, which is the highest tea plantation at 7900 ft., is one of the highlights of the trek. The route will take you through steep mountains and narrow pathways through the shola forest, so this longer trek is better suited for experienced trekkers.
