Established in 2000, with a rich influence of Portuguese art and architecture, the Indo-Portuguese Museum is set inside the compound of the Bishop of Kochi’s House to exhibit the rich Indo-Portuguese Christian Art heritage. The Museum of Kerala is the best museum in Kochi famous for portraying Kerala’s history from its early inhabitants to modern times. The gallery displays 200+ sculptures and paintings by famous painters such as M.F. Husain, Raja Ravi Varma, F.N. 4. The Mattancherry Palace

Mattancherry Palace is the best historical museum in Kochi. It was a gift from the Portuguese to the King of Cochin around 1545. Built with a Kerala style architecture known as the ‘Nalukeetu’, the museum is known as the Dutch Palace. It is the home of the royal family’s deity, Pazhayannur Bhagavathy. It showcases several artefacts such as weapons, coins, stamps and different palanquins. 5. Hill Palace Museum

Known as the largest archaeological museum in Kochi, Hill Palace was built in 1865 in the traditional architectural style. It was earlier the official residence and imperial administrative office of the King of Cochin. It is home to various rare medicinal plant species. The palace is spread across 54 acres and has an archaeological museum, a deer park, a heritage museum, a children’s park and a prehistoric park. It displays around 14 categories of exhibits, such as paintings, inscriptions and coins, crown and ornaments from the royal family’s reign, weapons, sculptures in stone and marble.
