Bharat Mandapam is a well-known Convention Centre located in Pragati Maidan, Delhi. The meeting hall has a capacity of 7,000 people and 18 different exhibition halls. It was inaugurated by former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi marking 25 years of India’s existence as an independent country. The Bharat Mandapam complex includes many buildings and is also home to verdant lawns. For elderly citizens and those who might face difficulty in walking long distances, there is a shuttle service offered within the complex. Bharat Mandapam also has a huge underground parking space for visitors who travel in private vehicles.

3. Quila-i-Kuhna Mosque

This mosque is one of the several ancient architectural marvels located within the Purana Qila or Old Fort Complex. Sher Shah Suri built this private mosque to commemorate his victory over the Mughal Emperor, Humayun. The mosque follows the architectural style of a ‘five bay mosque’ commonly adopted by Afghan congregational mosques. Stone rubble, lime mortar, marble, quartzite and red sandstone have been used in the construction of the holy mosque. The small minarets in the mosque are called guldastas, due to their resemblance to flower bouquets.

Buddha Jayanti Park is a famous picnic spot among the residents of Delhi. The park was inaugurated by Lal Bahadur Shastri in 1964 and a sapling of the sacred Bodhi Tree was planted on the occasion. Right at the entrance, is a colossal idol of Buddha, ushering visitors inside the park. There is also a small pond where you can watch ducks swimming. The paths meant for visitors to walk are lined on either side by beautiful Bougainvillaeas. There is a cafeteria in the park which serves delicious snacks to visitors.
