2. Kalesar National Park

Kalesar National Park is another important protected area in Haryana. This place is adjacent to Kalesar Wildlife Sanctuary and is spread over an area of 13,200 acres of land. The place is a popular destination for a variety of animals including leopards, red jungle fowl, porcupines, chital deer, monkeys, langurs and leopards. This national park is also located at the foothills of the Himalayas in the Shivalik Range and is surrounded by dense forests. It is named after the Kalesar Mahadev Temple which is located in the periphery of this park. There are three motorable tracks which offer jeep safaris.

These two national parks in Haryana is easily accessible and can be reached in three ways:
By Air: The nearest airport to these national parks is Delhi’s International Airport. Indira Gandhi National Airport lies just 31 kilometres away from Sultanpur National Park.
By Train: The nearest railway station to these national parks is Gurugram Railway Station which is 14 kilometres away. Visitors travelling by train can get down at the station and hire a cab or taxi to reach the destination. Alternatively, visitors can also reach the park via Delhi Railway Station.
By Road: These national parks in Haryana are easily accessible via road. Visitors can directly take a cab, an auto rickshaw or their private vehicle to the park. From Gurgaon, it takes about 30 minutes to reach and if you are travelling from Delhi, it takes about an hour to reach.

Sultanpur National Park remains closed during the monsoon months from June to September. Visitors can plan their trip to the park during the summer months from March to May or during the winter months from October to February. On the other hand, Kalesar National Park and Kalseral Wildlife Sanctuary remain closed from July to September. Ideally, the best time to visit o this park is in the month of October.
