The Nongkhyllem Wildlife Sanctuary address is the 20th-mile Nongpoh, Ri-Bhoi district, near Lailed village, Meghalaya. This sanctuary is located at a distance of 34 kilometres from Dispur and 75 kilometres from the town of Shillong. Entry to the sanctuary requires permission from the forest officer of Nongpoh because it is not open to drive-in tourists. The sanctuary has over 50 species of mammals including Bengal tigers, black bears, leopards, etc. and 25 species of reptiles, with 30 species listed in Schedule I of the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972.
