7. Varayattumotta

Varayattumotta, the tallest peak in the Ponmudi mountain ranges, is well-known for being home to mountain goats known as Nilgiri Tahr. In Malayalam, Nilgiri Tahar is known as Varayaadu, which is how the mountain earned its name. This mountain top is at an elevation of 1100 metres and is easily accessible from the Ponmudi or Mankayam checkpoints. This mountain crest is fairly steep, hence few hikers choose to use this path. 8. Koyikkal Palace
