Kurukshetra is a famous town in Haryana, which is very famous for the setting of the Hindu epic poem, the Mahabharata. The ancient temple ‘Dakshinamukhi Hanuman Temple’ is a very famous temple as it is said that it is an incarnation of Hanuman’s self. The temple’s sanctum sanctorum idol is worshipped by devotees, especially people who are suffering from constant fear, and troubles, and are not able to lead a peaceful life. This temple fulfils the dreams of people and trespasses their sufferings. Lord Hanuma’s idol made a natural divine revelation in the presence of devotees, on April 25, 2008. You must visit this shrine to attain peace and salvation.

2. Jyotisar

Jyotisar, a revered site in Kurukshetra, holds deep significance in the epic Mahabharata. It is believed to be the very place where Lord Krishna imparted the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita to Arjun, beneath a Banyan tree, to prepare him for battle against Bhishma and Karna. Remarkably, this ancient tree is said to still stand in the town today. People throng in huge numbers to witness this marvel and soak in the divinity of the place. There is a light and sound show every day in the evening to showcase the Leela of Lord Krishna.

3. Brahma Sarovar

Brahma Sarovar, an ancient and sacred water body, is nestled in the city of Kurukshetra, Haryana, India. According to Hindu mythology, this is the site where Lord Brahma is believed to have created the universe, giving it immense religious significance. During solar eclipses, the Sarovar becomes a focal point for pilgrims from all over India, who come to take a holy dip. The large, rectangular reservoir features a central island adorned with a marble statue of Lord Shiva. 4. Shri Krishna Museum

The Shri Krishna Museum in Kurukshetra stands as a lasting tribute to Lord Krishna, capturing his philosophy, miracles, teachings, and unique personality. It is the only museum solely dedicated to Krishna as an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The museum beautifully showcases his tales, divine insights, and relics through a variety of illustrations, paintings, and artefacts, preserving his legacy for generations. It was set up in 1987 and is divided into two blocks. If you want to witness the life and magic of Krishna, you must visit this temple.

5. Karna Lake

Karna Lake is a well-known tourist spot that comes alive at sunset with its stunning views. Often referred to as Karna Tal, both the lake and the district are named after Karna, the legendary figure from the Mahabharata. This man-made lake is complemented by the beautifully designed Karna Lake Tourist Complex nearby. Boating on the serene waters is a favourite activity among visitors, while many choose to enjoy a relaxing picnic.
