1. Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple

Swaminarayan Akshardham, among the places to visit near Sarojini Nagar Delhi, is one of the largest Hindu temples globally. The term ‘Akshardham’ means the abode of the supreme lord. This majestic temple was constructed with fine, artistically carved pillars, and about nine domes. It is also adorned with stone elephants and statues of significant figures and divine personalities in the history of India. The temple is built of pink stone and white marble which also symbolise purity and peace. Photography is not allowed inside the temple.

2. Chandni Chowk

Chandni Chowk is in the middle of Purani Dilli (Old Delhi) and was curated in the 17th century by the popular Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. It starts at the infamous Chor Bazaar where you will find almost everything you can think of – electronic items, vintage clothes, antique furniture, or perfumes. Near this lane is the Gauri Shankar Temple, a shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, where you can witness a Lingam that is said to be around 800 years old. 3. Jama Masjid

Also known as the Great Mosque of Old Delhi, Jama Masjid attracts visitors and religious devotees for its divine beauty, peaceful atmosphere, and majestic architecture. The mosque was built in the 17th century under the reign of Shah Jahan who also built the monumental Taj Mahal. The mosque floor is encircled with decorative walls, with three gates for entry access. Behind these gates is situated the wide spectacle of India’s biggest Muslim worship space called the Great Courtyard. Its colossal terrace can hold more than 25,000 people and welcomes communal prayers.

4. Karol Bagh

This underground, modern, AC market situated below the inner circle of Connaught Place was established in the late 1970s. It is specifically popular for cheap electronic items and clothing and can hold about 15,000 people within its confined space. Whether it is footwear or perfumes, accessories or electronic gadgets, you will have access to a wide variety of products. It also draws in many foreign tourists as well. 6. Tibetan Market

The area of Little Tibet of Delhi was originally established to be home to a few Tibetan refugees. Many years later, the small colony grew in proportion and is now popular among the localities and visitors. Also known as the Monastery Market, it consists of stalls that sell statues, shawls, incense, paintings, Tibetan artefacts, jewellery and stones. 8. Connaught Place
