Saptashrungi Temple is a popular Hindu Goddess temple in Maharashtra, which derives its name from its location. It is located among the seven peaks of the Saptashrungi Hills, which is where the Sapta or seven comes from. According to Hindu mythology, this is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas where parts of Sati’s body fell while Lord Shiva performed his Tandava.
In this temple, the right part of Maa Sati fell and it is thus one of the most significant religious spots to visit and explore. The temple enshrines a 10-armed idol of Goddess Saptashrungi, adorned with a variety of weapons used to vanquish demons. Additionally, it is believed that the deity is self-manifested and the sheer magnificence of the 8-foot-tall idol, carved in the rock, leaves visitors in awe.
