By Air: The nearest airport is Bhuntar Airport, located around 175 kilometres from Keylong. From the airport, travellers can hire a taxi or take a bus to Keylong, then continue by road to Shashur Monastery.
By Road: Keylong is well-connected by road to Manali, which is about 120 kilometres away. From Manali, visitors can take a scenic drive via the Atal Tunnel and then proceed to the monastery. Local buses and taxis are available from Keylong to reach the monastery.
By Rail: The closest railway station is in Joginder Nagar, approximately 252 kilometres from Keylong. From the railway station, visitors can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach the Lahaul Valley and continue to the monastery.

The largest and most significant monastery in the area, it is associated with the Tibetan Buddhist Drukpa sect and dates back more than 900 years. Perched at an elevation of 3,500 metres, this monastery commands a breathtaking view of the Himalayan peaks and the Bhaga River. In addition to serene serenity and spirituality, this monastery offers a wealth of old manuscripts, murals, and thangkas.
