Dating back to 1873, the Ponnu Guruvayurappan Temple is one of the most popular temples in Kalyan. It is located a short drive away from the main city but attracts thousands of tourists every year. The temple, as the name suggests, is dedicated to Lord Guruvayurappan and you get to witness the cultural traditions that are rooted in South India, more specifically in Kerala. One of the highlights of visiting the temple is getting to witness the Kshetra Puranam. Inside the temple, the main shrine is dedicated to Ponnu Guruvayurappan, which is a form of Lord Krishna. The temple’s architecture is quite simple and reminiscent of the older temples that you are likely aware of.
