Kanhirangad Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It also has idols of Bhagavathy, Ayyappan, and Ganapathy. People come here in huge numbers as it is believed that pilgrims who visit this temple get cured of their diseases. People with skin and eye disease are advised to pay a visit to this temple for treatment. Milk and water are offered to Lord Shiva. 2. Parassinikadavu Sree Muthappan Temple

Parassinikadavu Sree Muthappan Temple is one of the famous temples in Kannur, where numerous devotees come in the hope of getting rid of all of their problems. Be it an upper-class devotee or a socially, or economically backward devotee, everyone comes here to pray and seek blessings. You must not leave Kannur without visiting this temple. Devotees believe that the deity ‘Muthappan’ is the God of solving all the problems. The location of the temple is also picturesque and offers a great view of the surroundings.

3. Taliparamba Rajarajeswar Temple

Taliparamba Rajarajeswar Temple is a beautiful piece of architecture with marvellous illustrations of the ancient infrastructure. Lord Shiva’s temple is incarcerated here. This temple also has the tallest Shikara amongst all the temples of its time. A prasna is organised here which is an ancient astrological decision-making whenever there is any problem in any of the other temples. The women cannot enter the sanctum after 6 pm, as Lord Shiva supposedly comes to the temple to pray every evening.

4. Mridanga Saileswari Temple

Mridanga Saileswari Temple is the most famous Devi temple in Kannur. It is dedicated to Mridanga Saileswari, who is called the goddess with four arms. People believe that every difficulty can be easily solved with her blessings. The Goddess Durga here is believed to have two forms – Mridangaleswari and Sreeporkali. It is ideal to visit this temple during Durga Puja, where you can enjoy the local festivities with the Kannur localities, and get to know their rich culture and rituals.

6. Subramanya Temple

Subramanya Temple is visited a lot by devotees who feel bored and depressed from day-to-day life. They come here to seek peace and prosperity in life. They feel a sense of calm and solace at this temple. This temple has historical importance as it is believed that Rama and Laxmana halted here on their way to Sri Lanka and sought blessings from the deity to rescue Sita from Ravana’s captivity. It is one of the oldest temples of Kannur and Lord Subrahmanya, son of Lord Shiva, is the presiding deity here.

7. Trichambaram Shree Krishna Temple

Trichambaram Shree Krishna Temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. The temple has a simple front elevation, but the interior of this temple is filled with exquisite antiques, belonging to the 15th and 16th centuries. The temple got its name after a saint known as Sambaran, who did meditation here. A colorful event Utsavam is held every year from 6th March to 20th March.
