4. Shri Nagueshi Temple

Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Shri Nagueshi Temple in Goa is another ancient marvel. Counted among the revered holy temples in Ponda, the temple is known for its beautiful wood carvings, including carvings of the magnificent Nandi Bull at the entrance. One such gem, not too well known yet, is the Shri Laxmi Narasimha Temple, dedicated to Lord Narasimha, an incarnation of Vishnu. An annual Rathotsava, or chariot festival, takes place every so often in the peaceful surroundings of the temple. At the temple, the deity has been installed in a very special posture. 10. Shri Navdurga Temple

The village of Madkai houses the Shri Navdurga Temple that is home to Goddess Navdurga, yet another form of Durga. The main deity is depicted in another unusual placement stance not in a ferocious form but peacefully with both historical and local significance. 11. Shri Gopal Ganapati Temple

This charming temple was rebuilt in 1966 by Goa’s first Chief Minister, Dayanand Bandodkar. It is set in the green hills near Farmagudi and is home to a shiny metal figure of Lord Ganesha that was found by herders. The building is a beautiful mix of old and new styles, with intricate carvings and a stunning deepastambha. Many followers come there on Sankashti and Vinayaki days because of its peaceful ambience.

12. Shri Nanda Devi Temple

Shri Nanda Devi Temple in Curti is an old shrine dedicated to Goddess Nanda Devi, who is thought to be a local version of Goddess Parvati. It is in a peaceful area.
