Built back in the 16th century by the brothers Virupanna and Veeranna, this temple has Lord Veerabhadra as its presiding deity, which is a fierce form of Lord Shiva. The depiction of the monolithic structures inside this temple is truly a sight to behold. Among everything, the main attraction of this temple is the mysterious hanging pillar. This impressive statue of Nandi, the bull vehicle of Lord Shiva, measures about 4.5 metres in height and 8 metres in length. Designed by carving a single piece of granite, it further showcases the skills and precision of the Vijayanagara sculptors. The Nandi Bull is renowned for its detailed and polished surface, showcasing the artisans’ meticulous attention to detail.
