Timangarh Fort is located in Masalpur Town, Karauli district of Rajasthan. It was built in 1100 AD but was soon destroyed and rebuilt in 1244 AD by Maharaja Timan Pal. He is known to be the descendant of Lord Krishna. It is said that several ancient clay sculptures and statues of Ashtadhatu are hidden under the temples situated in the fort. Muhammad Ghori is believed to have occupied this fort from 1196 to 1244 AD. The fort gives a glimpse of the rich cultural history of Rajasthan.

Among all temples, the Atishaya Kshetra Shri Mahavirji temple is known to be the Jain’s miraculous pilgrimage. It is located near the Gambhir River in the Hindaun region. The temple has a trust that does several charitable works, such as building a school, library, pharmacy, rehabilitation centre, etc. It has Manastambha, which is known as the column of pride, standing tall at the height of 52 metres.

The Kaila Devi temple is situated in Kailadevi village near the banks of the Kalisil river. The temple is located near Karauli and Gangapur city and is dedicated to the goddess Kaila or Kaileshwari. It is said that goddess Kaila is the form of the goddess who took birth as a child of Nanda and Yashoda. When Kansa tried to harm the goddess in the baby form, she transformed and informed him about the Lord Krishna’s safety. It is known to be one of the Char Dham in the Karauli district and provides accommodation to thousands of devotees who visit this temple every year.

4. Shri Madan Mohan Ji Temple

Shri Madan Mohan Ji Temple was constructed when the ruler of the Karauli saw Lord Krishna in his dream. It is said that before the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb attacked Vrindavan temples, the king was told by Lord Krishna to bring his Madan Mohan idol to Rajasthan. The king brought two idols to Karauli and constructed the temple. One of the idols of Lord Krishna that the king brought from Vrindavan is located in Jaipur city. It is believed that to complete the Govardhan Yatra; devotees have to visit both the Govind Dev Ji Temple and Shri Madan Mohan Ji Temple.

5. Kailadevi Wildlife Sanctuary

The Kailadevi WildLife Sanctuary is a part of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve and serves as a buffer zone. It became a part of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve in 1983 and consists of deciduous forest and river valleys. The sanctuary is spread over an area of 676.40 square kilometres and has dominant vegetation of Salar and Khair trees. Several species of wild animals and reptiles are found in this sanctuary. Some of the famous animals that visitors can watch here are Bengal tigers, wild boars, leopards, sambar deer, and cobras.
