One massive figure of Lord Vishnu in a reclining position, carved from a single granite block, may be found inside the largest of the caverns which is a four-story building. Numerous sculptures, including representations of gods, goddesses, and mythical animals, adorn the main cave. It is known that the Undavalli Caves are related to the Vishnukundins Kings. This mighty dynasty ruled the more significant part of ancient India from 420 to 620 AD. It was also speculated that the local governor, Madhava Reddy, deeded these caves to the temples of Narasimha Swamy and Anantha Padmanabha Swamy.

By Air: The nearest airport is Vijayawada Airport, which lies within a 30-kilometer radius of the Undavalli caves. One has to hire a bus or a taxi to get to the caves from the airport.
