It is said that before the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb attacked Vrindavan temples, the king was told by Lord Krishna to bring his Madan Mohan idol to Rajasthan. The king brought two idols to Karauli and constructed the temple. One of the idols of Lord Krishna that the king brought from Vrindavan is located in Jaipur city.
