Since Vyasa-puja was popular in Satara, Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Mahaswamiji wanted to build a temple for Sri Nataraja. If you look at the architecture of the temple, you will realise that it is modelled after the ancient Nataraja temple in Chidambaram.
