This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu also known as Sowmya Narayana Perumal here and his consort Thirumamagal (Lakshmi) and was created during the Pandya Dynasty period. The temple is notable for its Dravidian architectural features that include gopurams, ornate pillars, and idols.
