As a couple, they were looking for a destination that offered both peace and adventure where they could slow down, reconnect, and be inspired by the new experiences. Bhutan turned out to be just that and so much more. We enjoyed the scenic stops en route, and reached Thimphu for an overnight stay.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 2:<\/strong> Explored Thimphu\u2019s cultural highlights including Buddha Point, Simply Bhutan, Memorial Chorten, Chang Gangkha Monastery, and Tashichhodzong.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 3:<\/strong> Drove via Dochula Pass to Punakha, visited Punakha Dzong, Suspension Bridge, and Chimi Lhakhang (Temple of Fertility).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 4:<\/strong> Traveled to Paro, visiting Ta Dzong (National Museum), Rinpung Dzong, Kichu Lhakhang, and Drugyal Dzong with views of Mt. What stood out most was the country\u2019s immaculate cleanliness, the warmth and simplicity of the locals, and the ever-present smiles that felt as comforting as the Smiling Buddha itself. On our drive from Phuentsholing to Thimphu, we were caught in heavy rain, and I deeply admired our lady driver Tshirin, who navigated the difficult roads with such skill and confidence, bringing us safely to our destination. Overall, the trip was well-organized and enjoyable. It would have been even better if entry tickets to sightseeing spots were included, but that was just a small hiccup.
